how many others will crawl back out of the woodwork?

Shouldn't be many unless it's a complete blow-out. We've been told for two weeks now how the Gophers shouldn't even be on the field against the Badgers, much less give them a game.

If we lose tomorrow so be it, 4 Big Ten games in a row, this program is moving in the right direction. We are playing very good football teams the next 2 games. One game does not define a season, although I will have to admit after the Iowa game I didn't know if we would win another game.

I, for one, pledge not to melt down. We have made tremendous strides this year.

Let's hope for the best!

8-3 is pretty sweet.
9-2 is aaaaaahhhhhh-sum

Even an 8-4 season will be a success. Anything more is gravy.

We are headed in the right direction.

Yep, we're playing with house money now. There are very few outcomes to this season that would be considered a disappointment to me now.

That's the truth! I've rarely seen a Gopher team as thoroughly frustrated and manhandled as the Gophers vs. Iowa. After that, an 8-4 record is a miracle.

I know our boys will show up & lay it all out there.
Coming off the top rope, becky...

I cringe even saying this, BUT..........

If everything possible went wrong, and the Badgers won in a rout (shades of infamous 55-0 game), then I think you will see a lot of revisionist history.......

"I knew the Gophs weren't as good as they looked during the winning streak." "They haven't beat a good team." and so forth.

Please note: this is NOT a prediction. I want the Gophers to Win. I'm just stating an opinion that a one-sided loss would bring out a lot of the doom-and-gloom crowd, including all of our "friends" in the media. (....cough, cough.....Zulgad.....)

Nice

PHawk probably cries like a little f'ing baby after every Gopher victory :p
I expect that when we win tomorrow he just might spontaneously combust. Let's play the game this staff has had two weeks to get the team ready. I'm very interested is seeing how we attack Wisconsin's 3-4. I suspect that having come up through the ranks the staff has see the 3-4 before and will have the team well prepared.

Win or loose tomorrow, the Gophers have exceeded my expectations too. They will be a team to be feared next season.

I don't expect the Gophers to win tomorrow. If they do I will be pleasantly surprised. A win is a win even if it is by one point ... so will take one anyway we can get one. However, if we lose I hope we don't get blown out.

-9...win
-10.5...win
-9.5...win

We just started our program this year, give us at least the 20 years that Wisconsin has had.

A show of improvement is exactly what we all hoped for this year. 8-2? Heck yes.....there is little question that we have been moving in the right direction. We actually look like a top half big ten team! Tomorrow......I hope that we are able to keep it competitive. I certainly think that we have a shot to steal a win if we play a flawless game. However, Wisconsin is a way underrated team (as much as it pains me to say). It will be the biggest test that we've had.

GO GOPHERS!

Why the hell would you be eagerly awaiting that?

At the airport flying back to Minny now!

Win or loose, excited to my Gophers!!

If we cover I'll be very pleased. If we don't cover, I'll be disappointed but this season is already a success.

But damn, if we win, I'll be the first one out there to start building the Jerry Kill statue.

Totally agree. If the Big Ten title hopes die this afternoon, and being realistic there is a very good chance they do, it won't change the fact that this has been a successful season. Like you I really can't picture a lot of scenarios that would lead to a meltdown if we lose this game, maybe some general disappointment but not a sky is falling meltdown.

It has been a good run.

They had all the momentum today at 7-3 and the ball but Nelson has been horrible in the passing game. The badgers will continue to pound it in the second half and grind down our defenders. We have no receivers and will be forced to pass. Expect more sacks and turnovers.

They will take their lumps against Sparty next week also but 8-4 is beyond my wildest dreams after the Michigan game.

I am excited about the bowl game and next season. The only question I have is what is Jerry gonna do with the head coaching spot going forward?

Dropped passes!!!!!!! Not Nelson

Dropped passes!!!!!!! Not Nelson

A couple yes, but the cold is brutal. I am talking about taking forever in the pocket on the fumble, the intentional grounding, and the over throws.

That should do it. Will we able to score any points to beat the point spread is the question that remains.

I'm still eagerly waiting for these meltdown threads... Or they aren't coming?

I disappointed but not melting down. We just aren't good enough on offense to hang with Wisconsin. There were plays to be made but we didn't make them. I think that we played well enough on defense to win if the offense could have kept moving the ball like it did in the first quarter. I tip my hat to their DC for making adjustments that we didn't have an answer for.
