...To Rhode Island. Another piece of terrible recruiting by Tubby! What are they now? 0/7 on 2013 recruits. (just checked) I'm losing faith that we stand any chance at getting Tyus, Rashad, or Reid Travis now.

Best chance is with a new coach.

I'll preface this by saying that I have my reservations as how recruiting is going. But at this point, I would not sweat losing Matthews to Rhode Island or Hankerson to Boston U. If we were losing them to other BCS programs I would be more concerned. Basketball players with legitimate offers and without baggage are not selecting the schools listed above over Big 10, ACC, Big 12 programs. I would actually not be that surprised if we read about Matthews reclassifying or attending a prep school or something of that manner down the road.

This. mnsports255(BigGopherFan?) seems to be overreacting to every player that commits elsewhere. I don't believe Tubby ever even offered and it's likely because of issues like grades as someone posted on here a long time ago. If we had actually offered and he didn't have any question marks then I would be a little more disappointed, but I would rather not get a player who might not even qualify.

It seems strange to me that people are getting so upset over plan b, c, & d signing else where without waiting to see if the Gophers are going to ramp up interest. When I was coaching in Nebraska I remember telling a kid that he needed to sign with a small mid major that had just offered him. He wanted to to wait and see if Nebraska, or Creighton would pick up interest in his senior year. He ended up getting banged up missed most of his senior year, and even with the strong finish he had the big schools never even looked at him. The small school signed someone else and he was left out in the cold.

I'm seeing the same thing play out this year with a pg from the high school I coach at. A small D1 from CA has flown out twice to see him in open gym, but he wants to wait and see if his dream school (Kansas) will offer him. The problem with his plan is I'm told that Bill Self is the who called the school in CA and told them about our pg. But he's still just a Junior it could happen, I don't mind being wrong about that kind of stuff.

Grades are a problem clearly.

People need to settle down. There's a reason a talented 4 star recruit ends up at a small no name school and usually it's because they can't get into a major conference University.
