drunken Wisconsin Man

Being drunk and killing innocent students on the freeway is not something I would be proud of. Wisconsin is redneck and white trash.

Go Gophers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does that even mean? I suggest you guys step away from the computer for a bit.

sconnie badger-you have about as much class as your fb coach

Umm, check the news re: Two members of the University of Minnesota spirit squad killed by drunken toolbag from Wisconsin. After you do that, get back to us...

That might be the most desperate reach of Wisconsin hate/envy I've seen. Wow, it's just sports guys.

No, actually it's us noting how pathetic (and even tragic in this case) Wisconsin's culture of "we're the drunkest fools in the country and proud of it" truly is.

honestly, there are people in every state who drink and drive. to say that wisconsin is the only state to do that is naive and stupid. yes they have a reputation for drinking, but thats not to say what happened to those students couldnt very well have happened on 35w too.

but hey who knows if the teetotalers who run the u of m and minneapolis have their way we may very well have a dry county, i mean theyre already doing their best banning even whiffs of alcohol near campus, cheering at football games, local parties (re: social host ord), and general college fun. a few years from now there should be a proposal to change the moniker to No Fun U.

No kidding. Thanks for sharing what everybody else already knows regarding drinking and driving. The actual point was this: Wisconsinites celebrate drunken stupidity at an unbelieveable level. They crow about being the nation's top party school at the drop of a hat. And the Wisconsinite who chimed in on this topic fits the bill perfectly. But if you want to turn this into a booze vs. teetotaler argument, feel free. The U's alcohol policy obviously bugs the hell out of you.

i take it you love the U's alcohol policy?

you know, and we should talk, not like there havent been a recent spat of alcoholic incidents on campus. im sure those girls care so much about how much more wisconsin parties than those frat boys.

you must be jealous of them being the biggest party school? i mean ffs it has nothing to do with this. they are the nations top party school, they also own us in football. and in hockey. and in academics (theyre full of a bunch of liberal pricks at the top but their educations is still top notch). its just some drunk idiot. celebrating drunken stupidity. right. you know that if that qualifier, 'wisconsin', would have been left out of that article you wouldnt have *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# to stand on in your argument? it could just as easily been a drunken minnesotan idiot chasing geese. and youd be ok with that. for *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#s sake the man was chasing a one legged goose. how is that not hilarious. you people are blowing things way out of proportion.

Did anyone read the entire article. You missed the main point.

"The goose is still on the loose."

I honestly don't care about the U's alcohol policy one way or the other. And no, I'm certainly not jealous of a school that promotes drunken stupidity. Drunken stupidity is drunken stupidity regardless of where it takes place, but as someone who lived in Wisconsin for seven years, I speak from experience. Also might wight want to rethink that whole "Wisconsin owns us in hockey" point. But like I said, apparently the policy bugs the hell out of you. This post proves the point rather nicely.

Considering i've lived there for all 20 years of my life i think i speak from more experience. And yes it does bug the hell out of me because right now im a student and i have to worry about what i can and cant do because of all the new consequences put down, like having a party with some friends who may be under 21, and being evicted because my landlord doesnt want the fine. so yea im a bit bugged.

^Hate to say, buddy, but that ain't just a Minnesota prude thing. Our society's stupid love/hate approach to alcohol and the prevalence of binge drinking have led to crackdowns at colleges all over the country.

That's understandable. I just happen to be friends with a girl whose sister is on the spirit squad and was very close with the students killed by that drunken yahoo. I probably would not have commented otherwise, but there is a very very fine line between having fun and getting somebody killed. And most folks who tout the whole "we party harder than anybody else, therefore we're awesome" mindset have no idea where that line is.
