Here's a thread that has nothing to do with Brewster

So, I'm at the game with my kids and the guy in front of us is a 40+/- year old dude that's completely zoned out. He wasn't ranting or yelling or anything, he's just staring blankly in front of him. About 15 minutes into the game, he vomits all over the place including on the two people in front of him. I would have thought maybe he had the flu, except for the obvious smell of hard liquor.

I think the people he threw up on were his friends because , while they were obviously perturbed, they didn't call security, they just went and bought new t-shirts. The guy sitting next to the projectile vomiter got him out about 5 minutes after the chunks flew.

Meanwhile, I had to explain the impacts of excessive alcohol on the human body to my 7 and 9-year olds and we all had to endure the smell of vomit for the next 2 1/2 hours. Nobody ever cleaned it up and the people in that aisle had to step through it (it was about 5 feet in diameter, so one couldn't step over it) to get to concessions or the bathroom.

What an unfortunate scene all-around. I hope this guy was borrowing someone's ticket because I surely don't want to deal with him for 7 more games.

Same Row As You

But I didn't see this, and most thankfully, didn't smell it.

I was staring blankly ahead myself, but in disbelief of the on-field "action".

I presume your seat # is a low-single digit?

You usually see that sort of thing only in a student section - or at an NFL game. Too bad.

Amen! That is a horrible thing to have to witness at a game. It's not about supporting the team or the school. It's using the game as an excuse to overconsume booze. You can't even excuse it as a kid who was overzealous in consumption.

Just wondering, how common is this at TCF? Are there any more "family friendly" sections that you know of? I'm thinking of trying to get some tix to the NU game (NU fan) and want to bring my 5 year old. I've been to a number of Gopher games at the Dome and haven't experienced problems. I'm more nervous to take the kid to a Vikes game based on what I hear, but I haven't been in ages.

I will say that this is my tenth year as a season ticket holder and the first time I have dealt with this particular issue. During my last 4 years at the dame we sat in front of a guy that wasn't drunk, but yelled about 100 cuss-words per game.

it is usually game-dependent. I won't take my kids to a 7 pm game against a BT rival because of the higher chances of drunkeness and profanity. I thought the USD game would be a great chance for them to see the Gophs score a ton of points and be a very upbeat crowd

Yeah, were in seats 3-6

You are much more likely to encounter a situation like this at a Vikings game than a Gophers game.

I saw signs around the stadium that they have one of those texting lines. This would be a good item to send in.

hard liquor is the devil, tell your kids when they get old enough to stick with beer

Are you sure he was drunk? The blank stare and projectile vomiting sound like a completely reasonable response to the action on the field.

at least he did not poop himself as well to add to the odor. its a good "glass is half full" point of view.

Never had a problem last year in our seats (sec. 109, 1st row). The people that own 4 seats behind us actually had season tix next to our seats at the Dome.. Small world that he ended up getting the seats behind us. So I'm always chatting with the guy.

For over half the game we were the only 4 people in our row, with an exception of a family on one end of the row (we are smack in the middle of the row). I know it's gonna be different this week, expecting our row to be filled.

It should not be a problem in future games. I'm thinking there will be plenty of open seats to move to.

I brought my three year-old daughter to her first gopher game, of any kind. She had a great time with my happiness significantly diminished by the football team. If someone threw up over me I would make a huge fit (assuming they didn't apologize profusely and buy me a new sweatshirt) and would have security there in no time. My wife said someone was throwing up in the stall next to them when our daughter was going to the bathroom.

My daughter had a blast because we went to the victory walk and stood next to the chearleaders when the team walked through, we listened to the band for several songs after the team was in the stadium, and we were able to get our picture taken with Goldy which was definitely her favorite moment of the day (she gave him a big hug).

Only time I've ever seen something like this for a Gopher game was 2002 when Iowa visited and one of their fans unzipped his pants and urinated all over the seats during the postgame melee.

I consider Gopher games to be fan friendly which is one of the reasons why a few years ago I decided to give up my Vikes season tickets and use the cash to buy 2 more Gopher season tickets for when my kids are old enough.

FWIW, been to a handful of Vikings games over the past 2 years, and I feel like the Dome gets a bad rap...Certainly hasn't been the hell hole of violence and drunkenness I'd heard stories about.

If by vomit you meant the game, and "smell of vomit" you also meant the game. And if by "buying new t-shirts" you meant turning your Minnesota Gophers shirt inside out and walking to the car in embarassment. Yeah I think I saw that unfortunate incident too.

Please everyone use CSC if this happens in your section.

If this did happen, 1) you need to tell security and get the UMPD involved. 2) CSC would then radio this to the booth, and cleaners can come up and mop up the mess. 3) dont be afraid to get security involved. What row were you in?? Go to a blue shirt CSC supervisor.

I sit 3 chairs and 1 row down from the guy. I wasn't even aware that he had vomited. What a mess. I felt bad for my friend who sits next to me. He brought his 6 year old daughter. She ended up sitting in his lap until they left in the 3rd quarter.

This all happened before the game even started so we can't blame it on the game.

It all depends on which section you sit in. I have had a variety of experiences over the years. However, I never had a bad experience like this one at Gopher games, so that makes it somewhat troubling.

I think that was meant as a sarcastic comment about the play of the game. I read it that way, not literally. ;)

let us drink inside so we dont need to pound the rest of the bottel of jack before we go in.....

still amateursthat cant hold thier booze should not drink.
