I don't think Indiana looking right now really helps if the Gophers also have a vacancy. If he gets offered both, which one do you think he's going to pick?
I do wonder if he's just waiting it out until Iowa tells red-faced Fran to take a hike.

The Iowa fans I've seen post on Twitter covet McCollom. They would like Iowa to dump Fran and jump on him. If the university is of the same mind, they might make a strategic move to snag McCollom before someone else does. If that happens, Fran didn't even get the grace of having one bad year, while we'll extend a guy for having four bad years.

It would be bold and ballsy for Indiana to hire McCollom, but I wouldn't put it past them. People on here think he's too much of a reach, but I think there are high-majors out there who would take him.
 




On the GopherHole, both of the following things are somehow true:
  • McCollum is too much of a reach, and the U would be foolish to pursue him for that reason.
  • McCollum is too good for us and will be scooped up by either Iowa or Indiana.

I thought maybe we should put an Ipwa sticker on our getaway van for the abduction…. Then I realized, we’d be caught for sure, I’d turn us in.

This is the kind of next-level thinking we need around here!
 

I’m also on the Drake board and there was a significant enough contingent that complained about the hire before the season that the AD even mentioned it recently. It was a ballsy hire at the time and it has more than paid off for the Bulldogs. Whomever gets him next will be getting a heck of a coach. Another question is will he bring Stirtz with him (or will he cash in). The kid is technically only a junior and is a runaway MVC player of the year. Banks is also a junior, but from watching them play I’d say Manyawu (Soph) and Howard (Fr) would be the others worth bringing with.

no chance mn gets drake coach. hes easily a top 5 target nationally and unless iowa keeps fran he wouldn't skip that job

I'd like to go tonite but I suppose we have a better chance to keep him here if we wait until his season is over?
