Go Gophers!!

I'm afraid a big number will be wearing purple and they won't be Viking fans.

Really??? I mean I am following the TCU boards and it doesn't sound like a Nebraska size following. Heck the whole school only has 8,500 enrollment. I think this is a case of curious Minnesotans looking to see what the Gophers can do against a top contender like TCU.

When USC visited in 2010 they hardly took over the stadium and I doubt TCU with its small alumni base will do so either. There will be a fair amount of people at the game just to see TCU though. We had two guys in front of us working as freelance photographers from the stands. I imagine the chance to see a top 5 team not from the big ten will bring out some gawkers.

As a lifelong Gopher fan, I'm conditioned to expect that if there's a home sellout, the other team's fans are filling 40% of the seats. I'm neurotic that way. It's a sickness.

per STrib:

The Gophers have fewer than 400 tickets remaining for the season opener against TCU, senior associate athletics director Chris Werle confirmed Thursday.

The team is closing on its first home sellout since the 2013 regular season finale against Wisconsin. The capacity at TCF Bank Stadium increased to 52,525 last season with the Vikings coming on as tenants. Last year's season-high attendance was 51,241 for Purdue.
