Wildcats spoil Rutgers' Big Ten debut, 51-47 @ the RAC.

Iowa also trying to pick up a road win. Lead OSU by 11 early in the 2nd half.

I'm already staring 0-2 right in the face (picked Rutgers & OSU on my Twitter page)!

Rutgers looked like the worst team in our conference.

OSU looks very sloppy on offense, and they are having trouble rebounding out of their zone as well.

Big Ten road teams off to 2-0 start

Iowa wins in Columbus, 71-65. Played like one would expect an experienced team to play. Solid start to the Big Ten campaign for the Hawkeyes.

That one surprises me. Didn't think Ohio State would lose at home to a middle of the road team like Iowa. Maybe I'm not giving Iowa enough credit though.

Watching this Illinois/Michigan game makes me realize how good our offense can be at times. We should have no trouble scoring on either of these teams. Michigan's half court offense is nonexistent.

Maryland and Michigan State are setting back basketball 100 years. Might be the most inept half of basketball I've ever seen. Yowsa' has this been ugly.

Came to post your first sentence. From the three games today I can see why some are saying that the Gophers can finish top 3. It's not like these teams are playing spectacular defense.

Freshman PG Bryant Mcintosh has been great for NW so far this year. He is averaging 11 & 5 so far for the Wildcats. Unfortunately their highest ranking 2014 recruit Vic Law isn't living up to his hype so far.

Impossible to draw any grand conclusions from one day of basketball, but it's hard to watch the games today and not think the Gophers should be very competitive against any of these teams.

Also -- great to have conference basketball underway.

There has to be a calibration factor for games before January 1. I can easily see that most of these guys heads can be somewhere else playing in the middle of their break and coming off time off for Christmas. Let's just hope the Gophers can hold serve in that awful December 31 game.

Whatever problems there are with it being New Year's Eve and winter break, its New Year's Eve and winter break for Purdue too.

You picked RUTGERS? Sir, you have lost all credibility! Lol
