Don Meyer passed away this morning

A gem of a coach, and a gem of a man. Rest in peace, Coach Meyer.
 


I hadn't heard that. I read last week that he was in hospice and that his healthy was deteriorating quickly. I never met him personally, but know many who did and all agree that he was a great coach whose basketball achievements were overshadowed by his wonderful persona. RIP Coach.
 

I was fortunate to see him coaching against our school in 80s and early 90s. He was a great coach that you would hate to play against. Belmont-Lipscomb rivarly was just amazing. I never forget those years. Our coach Rick, said many times how much he learned from Don during his time in Nashville. Guys like Don are numbered these days. RIP coach.
