If Coyle is serious about building a top tier program it's going to take an investment of $12M-15M/year. At least $5M for the coaching staff. At least $5M for the roster. $2M for the first couple of years for buyouts (coming and going). $1M in non admin misc costs.

Let's say Fleck is willing to let go of 25% of the supposed settlement money and DA has $1-2M to send their way. That gets the hoops program halfway home. The rest has to come from the university budget. Coyle has shown no ability to raise money.

Rev share and NIL can only pay for players.

The rest of whatever money is going to be spent -- biggest chunk on coaching staff -- has to come from the athletic department in the usual way.

You’re channeling Harry Chapin: “He came to the world in the usual way but there were plans to catch, bills to pay—he leaned to walk while I was away…”. There are “bills to pay” to overcome a generation of struggle. Jamiche provided the numbers.

I'm just saying, the "new money" (rev share and NIL) can't pay for those things.

But the overall increased TV money from the Big Ten (minus the rev share amount), can pay for it.
