I saw this in another thread, but figured I wouldn't get my question answered buried in there. 'KrisHumphries' showed a print screen of PantherCock going on Lloyd Carrington's facebook page and talking sh!t about Minnesota. Clearly he does this with most MN recruits? Is anything ever done to stop this? I imagine he probably does negatively impact some of these recruits. Kind of saw if we sit back and let this pin dic& get away with this sh!t.

Panther Hawk adds every gopher recruit on facebook, didn't know he was on here in the "pre-KrisHumphries era"

here is an example of what he posts

I don't know what can be done about it. It is an NCAA violation if he is considered to be a booster, which he may not be because he likely spends all of his money on light sabers, magic Harry Potter beans and jean shorts.

Has anyone figured out his actual name? I would think that an address for him could be easily found if anyone did.

Report the profile to Facebook as "not representing a real person." There's a place to do it on the profile.

They're usually pretty good about taking them down if they get enough flags.

According to KFAN's Rube Chat, his real name is Eric Lewis. He lives in Maryland.

A funny story from MV:

As soon as FBT went live, who do you suppose was the very first person to register for the comment section? Yep, Panther Hawk.

I know only what I have read about this individual but he is at the very least a pathetic person and very inmature.
Anyway, it is my understanding that being a booster of a program is a little bit of a grey area as defined by the NCAA. That being said I believe the "grey area" leans towords being very broad. I believe being a season ticket holder of a team constitutes as being a booster, makes no difference if you are an alumni or not. If someone would pursue this, and I would be all for it, I would assume that this pussyhawk guy is more than likely a booster of the Iowa program in some way and probably in violation of some NCAA infractions. The U would never acknowledge or address this idiot but it would be funny if someone took the time and resources to see that his childlike antics are put to an end.

Wow. Just looked at the friend list. This guy is sad- at best. What a miserable existence he must lead.

He is the definition of lame, 40 yr old virgin for sure.

The worst punishment we could give him is to be exactly who he is. He's not even really a fan of the Hawkeyes or the Panthers, that's secondary. His "life" is soley devoted to his obsession with hating the Gophers. He gets banned from most forums. He's down to haunting the boards of our non-conference opponents, because they haven't YET banned him. Perhaps his punishment in the afterlife will to remain exactly who he is for all eternity.

I hear what you're saying, but if we just let him be he will still go on and harrass our recruits via facebook and I have to believe that some of the stuff he throws out at them sticks. For instance, I'm sure Lloyd Carrington is somewhat leery about cold northern states, now we have PantherHawk reinforcing this notion and negatively impacting his openness to MN before he even steps on campus. Anyone want to tail this guy on FB and just refute anything he posts on our recruits walls?

I would hope, though, that the people on the visit and the personal experience he has while he's here would have a far greater impact than some random Facebook post from a "girl" named "Panter Hawk". I know what you mean, but I really don't think it's that big of a deal. An extreme annoyance, but I wouldn't think it costs us any recruits.

We need to create the anti panther hawk on facebook. Whose gonna step up.

To me, it's more sad than anything else and the involvement of the new social media only magnifies the sadness. People like Pantherhawk don't even have to attempt to be "real." So easy to be a "virtual a-hole." So easy that I guess I'm actually doing it here by ragging on him. LOL.

Seriously, responding to crap like this only eggs him on to greater levels of ridiculousness. Carrington seems to have some sense of humor about it with the "LOL" response. So come on down Lloyd! We need guys like you here in Minnesota.

Report him to Iowa

Someone needs to report him to the University of Iowa and U of Minnesota NCAA compliance departments. Look up the NCAA definition of a "booster" and it is 99% likely he is one. I believe it includes anyone who has ever been a basic season ticket holder.

Next thing you know somebody is going to do a reverse phone lookup and actually call the guy. lol. ;)

I sent an email to Bill Glasscock (recruiting coordinator) to let him know about PH, he said they are aware and appreciates the concern.

I'm not saying to ignore him. By all means, get him banned from every forum out there. There is just satisfaction in knowing what a miserable, pathetic wretch he is. I've had attacks of stomach flu that were more fun that what his life must be.

I think my 3yr son could take this clown, I'm gonna put out an apb to find him at the Bank this year.

Sometimes you just have to have an optimistic view about things. Such as, even on terrible days when I think things can't get any worse I realize that I'm not PantherHawk and everything seems a little better.

NCAA rules refer to boosters as “representatives of the institution’s athletic interests.” These representatives include anyone who has:

• Participated in or has been a member of an organization promoting university athletics programs;
• Made financial contributions to the athletic department or to a booster organization;
• Arranged for or provided employment for enrolled student-athletes;
• Assisted or has been requested by university staff to assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes;
• Assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families;
• Participated as a varsity athlete at theUniversity; or
• Been involved otherwise in promoting university athletics (including all season ticket holders).

This is a problem everywhere. Take a look at Andy Staples recruiting column today at SI.com. I would provide a link if I knew how. The point is that the pantherhawks of the world are using facebook to influence recruits in any way they can. Kinda sad really.
