I know he's young. I know he's tall. I know he has a good arm. With that, he was the worst of the three quarterbacks on the field today. He looked like a statue. He didn't hit many open receivers and rushed his throws often.
Will he be leading the Hawkeyes in future years, or do you think they'll go with someone else?

Hard to tell. I didn't see much of the game today, but he certainly looked good against Ohio State. It's hard to tell with inexperienced QBs. I'll give him a pass on the Northwestern game because he was just thrown in there. As for today, there's now two weeks of film on the kid and it's all about him adjusting to adjustments being made by the defense and he may have had trouble with that today.

From what I saw last week, it looks like he's a better pure passer than Stanzi, but that's not the whole thing.

Uh, in no way was Adam Weber better than Vandenberg today....How many turnovers for Adam today? How many for Vandenberg? (make note I said TO's, not INT's) Who managed the game better? Who had the better passing %?

Minnesota Comp Att Yds Pct Y/A Sack YdsL TD Int Rating
Adam Weber 14 40 153 35 3.8 24 0 0 67.1
MarQueis Gray 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 1 -100.0
Iowa Comp Att Yds Pct Y/A Sack YdsL TD Int Rating
James Vandenberg 11 24 117 45.8 4.9 28 0 1 78.5

O yah... who had the better QB rating? Thanks for that Maxwell....
