I know he got ripped for the game against VA on Monday, but I don't think he should have been. I mean, I'm sure all the people that ripped him were booing when he was 3-3 from the 3 and looked like the spark plug we need and we all wanted when we found out he was going to be out to start the year. Sure, he isn't the best fit at PG, but we need him and he should start this Sat. Nothing against Maverick, but to sit Devoe over him again is a slap in Devoe's face.

I agree. Devoe should be the starting PG until Al is back. There's no use messing around. He needs minutes to shake the rust off. When Al gets back, Devoe can go back to doing what he does best, being a combo guard who can play off Al when both are in the game at the same time.

I think someone posted on here that the game against VA was a "perfect storm" game for us to lose. I for one didn't think Devoe looked all that bad. He was a little rusty as SS said above, but that is to be expected. I think he should and will start until we get Nolen back. It will be nice to have Devoe back into the swing of things coming off the bench. He could be one of, if not, the best 6th man (hard to say who is a 6th man on our team because of the subs...I know) in the big 10. Just like I think it was crazy for people to jump off the cliff after losing against VA....and on the same note...thinking this is the 97' team when we won the first 6 games, we need to sit back, realize it was just one lose and not blame that on Devoe. He will win us more games than not.

No. He won't start. But, he'll play more minutes than the starter Ahanmisi.

He wasn't rusty, thats just the way he plays: Hot or Not (much value).

I thought he played fine. Yeah, he threw up bricks at the end, but we didn't have much of a choice at that point. I thought he was impressive for not playing at all until that point. I just hope he doesn't dribble that much.

He had a fine game offensively for someone who hadn't played. But his shot selection was weird. In hindsight we should have expected him to be mentally moving faster than he should've been. Defensively he wasn't very good, but that's to be expected.

Knowing Tubby - he won't start. But he'll be in the game probably at the first timeout.. and will play major minutes for the rest of the game.

Start or not, he will (or should) play a lot. He is a big time talent... in case you forgot, it wasn't just the BTT where he played well. He and Colton played well down the stretch last year too. He had a rough time adjusting last year for a few games when thrown into the point guard role but recovered nicely, thank you.
