I don't know if I have this right, but either the last time USC visited here, or the time before that, didn't both teams come out in almost identical uniform tops? Our maroon and their cardinal. And I think the Gophers had to go back and change to an alternate jersey.

I can't work the google machine well enough to find this information.

I don't know but it reminds me of the time I played in a playoff high school basketball game and both teams showed up with their white "away" uniforms. One team thought they were white because they were the lower seed and the other team thought they were white because they were on the bottom of the bracket. Lucky us... we were wrong so we had to wear our shorts with some hand-me-down temp jerseys from the college that we were playing at. DUH.

I kept hearing about the state basketball tournament in 1982 I think where Chisholm played another team with similar school colors. They knew one of our best players was blue-green color blind, so they came out in their home blues just like we wore. I guess we lost that game in a close one, and the guy in question may have had a turnover or 2 because of it.

Then again, I've read that Bierman's teams wore gold uniforms that were a similar color as the football to "confuse" the opponents. Any advantage you can get I suppose!

Was there and don't remember that at all. Do recall the lateral pass on the kick-off though. The touchdown came towards the students in the bowl and we went nuts. One of the most memorable plays in Gopher football history.
