And if so, is it too late to terminate that agreement? I hate that fight song with a passion.

I think no. The visiting bands were all announced in advance (I believe) and I don't recall hearing Iowa. Just USC, Penn State, and Ohio State.

Wasn't it USC, South Dakota, and Ohio State?

Me thinks the PSU band was an alumni band that sits in the stands for all their away games.

they won't be able to make it, they have a pig wrestling tournament that day.

1) I think it is stupid when fans don't want the opposing band to come to TCF. It is part of the game, college experience, and traditions that make college football the best sport in the country.

2) I think it is stupid that Maturi allows opposing bands to come here when our band is unable to visit opposing stadiums. To me, it makes our program seem inferior because it shows off how other schools treat football so much differently than we do.

Maybe it is point #2 why fans don't want the opposing band here. If so, totally warranted. It just seems like that isn't the reason why they don't want the other bands here.

per University of Iowa marching band schedule nothing is scheduled for that weekend. hopefully all of them will be at home with their sister wives eating left over roadkill and dressing

this is not to say that I wouldn't welcome them, I have posted in other threads, having the opposing band visit adds to the atmosphere of gameday. the fact that we as gopher fans are conditioned to hearing the opposing band play songs of celebration after another defeat of the Gophers is probably what makes people not want them to come.

I forgot about USD because I (thankfully) was unable to drive up from Madison for that game.

I'm guessing that this season the reason has a lot to do with us sucking and Iowa bringing a lot of fans. Having the opposing band there would just add to the frustration that already exists.

If not for Purdue, Iowa would have the worst fight song in the Big Ten.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we had a team that had an actual chance to win I would have no problem with it. When we are 1-10, it's just not a good idea.

You just have to know the "right" words to the song! It's one of the best if you know how to fill out the following Mad Lib.

(Noun), (Noun), (Noun) and (slur)
(repeat)
Herky likes to (verb) my (body part) and (verb) on my (plural body part).
Herky's got the (adjective) (body part) of all.
Go home and (verb) your (relative).
(verb) your (body part) and (same verb) his (noun).
(illegal act in the North) is the very best, it's better than the rest
When your a Hawkeye from the state of Iowa.
