Do we really need another bowl?

No.

But I think PlayHosea might be on to something.

What we need is the Metrobowl, held at Mall of America field at the HHH Metrodome! ;)

This bowl game can pit the two worst programs in the country against each other. The two worst teams in the worst stadium sponsered by a crappy mall.

I think it would be hilarious if they did play a game featuring the 2 worst teams in the nation and call it the "Sympathy Bowl".......

I like the idea of a game at Yankee Stadium.....could be some interesting weather.
I enjoy the bowl games. They're usually wide-open with lots of surprises with so much preparation time. Nothing wrong with that.

Need? No; but what the hell! I like watching college football any time and this is just another chance to do it it.

But again "need"? Nope.

I hope the Hogs win this weekend and hope you have a great time and enjoy watching a Gopher victory when you come up to TCF.

I think it's a good idea. We have so many bowls but few are in in unique venues. NYC is also a great place to be around the new year.

Actually, if we do need to add more bowls, I hope they are in places like this. I also want a bowl game in Soldier Field. If there's not a lake-effect blizzard on gameday, postpone the game until there is one.

I think they're just posturing themselves for inclusion in the eventual college playoff tourney, which should have at least a little regionality to it. Maybe the TCF should host an early one one too to get in line.

what's wrong with a bowl game in NYC? I don't care if there are 70 bowl games... I have been to every Gopher bowl game since 2002 and had a great time. People need to stop thinking of bowl games as some kind of championship... it's just another game against a different team and a reason to visit a new or different city for a few days.

More bowl games the better. Watching football at the bar daily through the month of December.

I'd be interested in what tier this bowl game intends to position itself. I can't imagine that NYC market would have much interested if it was a bottom tier bowl. It's really a question of how much of a payout they can promise to the schools, that gets you moved up in the tie-ins really fast.

Couldn't agree more.
