Divisions

Well, anything is possible with that group.

One thing I know for sure, they will never admit they ef'd up and go to an east/west.

But they should - and it should have been East/West from the beginning. Now with Penn State crippled, there would be a balance, plus Illinois might come on strong one of these years and who knows what will happen here? Wisconsin belongs in the West, Michigan in the East, at the very least.

Unless there is change in the number of teams or membership, realignment will never, never happen.

Even though they should (and should have from the beginning), they'll never go to an East/West split because Delany has an enormous hard-on for Mich/OSU and he will never ever ever put them in the same division. The idea of them meeting in the championship game makes him pitch the most ridiculous tent you've ever seen, while making said match up an impossibility will make him look even more like Emperor Palpatine.

Would they need everyone's vote for this? Or a simple majority? I can think of five teams that would oppose it.

I'm not a fan of the idea really; I think you just have to play it out as it is. Yes, Wisconsin is the beneficiary, but that's how it works out. And they still have to play the games & beat out Purdue, Illinois & Indiana. What if Mon-tay Ball & Ricky Wagner break their legs in the first game of the year?

I do agree that it should have been East-West from the beginning; funny thing I've seem to notice from message boards & other stuff is that it seems like most Michigan & Ohio State fans would prefer to be in the same division & do not have the hard-on for a championship match-up that Delany appears to have.....

If the Big Ten eventually expands, Wisconsin may get moved back to the West/Legends division, if the new teams are from the eastern part of the US.

It's an interesting idea, but I'd only make it applicable if Ohio State or Penn State wins the Leaders. If someone other than OSU or PSU wins the Leaders, they should still get to go to Indy.

My suggestion would be, if the Leaders Division winner is ineligible, the second team should be the one with the best conference record (either division) using applicable tiebreakers (i.e. head to head), if necessary.

You made the divisions, live with it. Can't change them year by year.
