Been away from the board for a few days, and I honestly couldn't tell whether the Gophers won or lost last night. Congrats on the win, players and staff.

Really don't understand why all the "get rid of Tubby, Tubby sucks" stuff can't wait until the season is over. For crying out loud, at least take a couple days and enjoy the win/moment. We haven't had one of those (NCAA tourney win) in 16 years. But maybe that's just me.

That's all for now. ... beat Florida.

I dig where you're coming from, SS, but it's simply a hot topic of conversation around town, so how can one expect that it won't be discussed on the Gopher fan site? Even if there were a way to heavily regulate this site, it would be regrettable to inhibit people from talking about certain things.

Great win last night, true test comes tomorrow. The focus has turned to tomorrow with one day between games. Mediocrity via inconsistency is the theme of this season, tomorrow will show us if we can break through.

It's not just you. The pissing and moaning on this board won't let up until tubby is gone apparently. Although if we are in the S16 or better the bitching and moaning will seem pathetic.

Well put. No matter what our opinion is, it's not going to affect anything. Love him or hate him, Tubby is coaching right now and we have a big game coming up. Let's enjoy the fact that we're still playing!

That's the approach I'm taking. I have my opinions about the coaching situation, but I'm going to enjoy this while I can. Last night was an exciting game. So much fun watching them get out in transition and win big while doing it.

I hope Tubby and the guys win a couple more just so the Fire Tubby crowd can suck eggs. Bunch of freakin morons.

If holding a coach's feet to the fire for mediocrity= moronic, not sure what that makes you?

SS, there are about 10-15 threads about the game from yesterday, Gopher fans very happy, etc. yet you didn't post in a single one of them. If you want to discuss the game there is a lot of opportunity in many threads complementing Tubby's zone, Dre's play, EE and Mo off the bench, Austin's shooting and tons more.

Stop using the word mediocrity find a new word because that's not what this team is.
The keyword for this team this season is mediocre.

Synonyms: characterless, colorless, common, conventional, decent, dull, fair, fair to middling, fairish, humdrum*, indifferent, inferior, insignificant, intermediate, mainstream, mean, medium, middling, moderate, no great shakes, of poor quality, ordinary, passable, pedestrian, run-of-the-mill, second-rate, so-so, standard, tolerable, undistinguished, unexceptional, uninspired, vanilla

I don't think any of those apply. Inconsistent, yes. Mediocre doesn't beat #1....mediocre probably doesn't lose to Nebraska or PU. Inconsistent does.

To get back on topic....yes we did win yesterday and it was awesome!!!

Yes, the true test is Florida. I have a feeling that UCLA got in for their cheerleading team. They were hot. They won the PAC10, you clueless moron.

For your information, Tubby beat Billy when UK was not ranked and Florida was number one in the nation. Like another poster said, you guys are a bunch of morons.

Go Gophers

In totality mediocre, as I've stated inconsistency leading to mediocrity.

Excuse me , there were five B1G teams better than UCLA. We also beat Indiana this year, what's your point? How does knowledge of Kentucky v. Florida years ago advance discussion of tomorrow's game?

Did. Didn't. Did. Didn't. You guys take a minor topic and turn it into a full blown Did/Didn't argument by 7 year old kids.

I don't think you know the definition of mediocre.

It's a pretty simple definition:
Midiocre
: of moderate or low quality, value, ability, or performance : ordinary, so-so

Not sure what you were thinking.

Once again it doesn't describe this team but keep trying.

This inconsistent argument isn't even at the level of mediocrity.

Absolutely, tied for 7th in the B1G with our talent matches it perfectly. May want to audit your past educational institutions.

Yes so many mediocre teams beat Indiana, MSU, Wisconsin, Memphis and UCLA.

Mediocre teams also get absolutely manhandled by Ohio State, Iowa and Purdue. They also manage to lose games against bad teams like Nebraska and Northwestern.

No inconsistent teams do.

No inconsistent teams do.

Inconsistency is generally considered a trait of mediocrity. In other words, can't sustain a high level of play = mediocre.

Really good teams stay consistent and at least maintain a certain level of play; the Gophers didn't. In fact, they didn't even come close during the conference season.

If Hollins squared gets hot shooting, and Mbakwe stays out of foul trouble we are not a mediocre team

If. If. If. The only real IF that matters in life is: "If the dog would not have stopped to take a $hit, would he have caught the rabbit?"

OR:

IF a man is alone in the woods and says something, is he still wrong?
