The only good news out of this is timing. He hasn't played so no issue with redshirting. I suspect he could come back but another year might be better than coming back weak after missing a large chnuk of the season.

A possible redshirt for Bostick... hmmm....
Before the stuff with White and Mbakwe, it'd be no way, no brainer. The Gophers are already planning on using all three scholarships that were scheduled to come off the books - Johnson, Westbrook and Bostick - on incoming players. Two of those are already signed on, and hopes are still that Cory Joseph would be the third.
BUT - and this is a giant, speculative but - if something goes further awry with White or Mbakwe and they are removed from the team, that frees up a new scholarship, one that could be used for Bostick if they elected to redshirt.
Nevertheless, I don't think you'll see Bostick redshirt this year. As callous as is sounds, his skills fall into positions (2 a/o 3) that we have a stockpile of talent in, and if a scholarship does free up from either White or Mbakwe leaving the program, that would absolutely need to go to another power forward to try and sure up that position.
