Devoe to remain in competition for PG minutes

I would have to agree with Myron here. Having Joseph at the SG spot would allow him to roam the perimeter and set up from downtown much easier. He's one of the few decent long-range shooters on the team. With that said, I think PG is the thinnest position on the team (which is probably why Tubby has Joseph working out at the spot). Though he had his decent moments, Nolen struggled on the offensive end in Big Ten play. Cobbs is unproven (like any other freshman) and no one really knows what to expect from Allen.

I agree. Until we see something from Cobbs or Allen we can't assume they are going to be ready to back up Al. That being said, Al needs to step his game up a bit from last year.

I'm surprised anyone thought he'd play exclusively at SG...

He certainly needs to improve some of his PG skills, and I think he'll be more effective at SG, but Westbrook cannot play point at all. We have numerous SFs who need lots of minutes, and both Westbrook and Joseph are too small to do more than spot duty at the 3.

I'm expecting a very good season for Joseph, but we just don't have enough time for both he and Westbrook at the 1 rotation position. Some of Joseph's minutes will have to come at the point. Nolen does some things well, but his total lack of any offensive game is just too big a hindrance many times. I expect Cobbs to be a significant contributor too, but Nolen's going to find his minutes evaporating pretty quickly if he doesn't make a jump this year.

Allen may contribute to this team eventually, but I certainly don't expect much from him this season due to football. A couple years practicing with the team and he may contribute more.

In 2011-12 Westbrook will be gone and Joseph will play SG almost exclusively, hopefully due to his brother manning the point :) McCallum would be great too, but the Joseph brothers backcourt would be a lot of fun and the media would eat it up like candy.

I must say that I'm pretty surprised all of the players finished the mile under their target times. Sampson and Iverson running the mile in under 6 minutes? That's pretty impressive.
