per the Free Press:

U-M coach Jim Harbaugh has placed less emphasis on the Jug than previous Michigan coaches but was direct multiple times this week, saying, “We want it.”

The Gophers don’t want to let it go.

“When you personally get your hands on the Little Brown Jug and have it around, it is one of the best traditions in college football,” said Claeys, who sees the Jug sitting in the football offices. “I know our fans, the kids and everybody associated with the state was excited we got to have it back here in Minnesota for a year. Because of that, our kids have seen how important it is, and we’ll fight awfully hard and do our best to keep it right here in the state of Minnesota.”

Everything has changed with the Wolverines since that game. They have a new athletic director, a new coach and now a 5-2 team ranked No. 15. Minnesota is 4-3, wracked by injuries and now with coaching uncertainty.

“Our mind-set last year was that we wanted to go win,” Bjorklund said. “Our mind-set this year is we want to prove that last year wasn’t a fluke.”
