PARTICIPATION REPORT

Student-Athlete Status for Oct. 19 game at Northwestern

5 - Chris Streveler Out
47 - Alex Bisch Out
29 - Briean Boddy-Calhoun Out for the season

Refreshing to see some continuity on the 2-deeps. Halfway thru the season, knock on wood, relatively healthy. Go figure.

One thing to consider. For the most part, this will be the first B1G game this season where there has been no mystery about who's starting at QB for the Gophers. Don't underestimate how that little bit of certainty can help the confidence and preparation of that player. I expect Leidner to come out and play well because of it.

I think Leidner will have a good game as well. The offense can only go up, so continuity and confidence can only help. The deciding factor is more likely to be whether we can stop their offense enough to win. Maybe Claeys will surprise us...

Good to see Ed Olson back on the 2-deep. That ankle must finally be coming around for him.

So I know this is probably the wrong place to ask this question but what ever happened to Issac Hayes? Didn't we sign him like 2 years ago? I thought he was a top 150 prospect? Just didn't pan out or got hurt??

He's only a redshirt freshman. It's pretty rare for a guy that young to play over older, more experience players on the offensive line. Ben Lauer was not expected to have to play this year but Ed Olson's injury caused that. All indiciations suggest Hayes still has a bright future.

Oh okay, good to hear then.

quick q. has streveler played yet this year or is he still currently qualified for RS status?

As long as he doesn't play, he can redshirt.

All that said, Streveler hasn't played this year and is still on track to Redshirt. My guess is you'd be more likely to see Donovahn Jones go in for a few snaps before they'd burn Streveler's RS.

I believe they stated earlier that Conor Rhoda would be the third QB if needed.

Pound the rock on offense with some passes sprinkled in especially to TE. Keep the D off the field.

Contain the QB's on defense with our athletic ends and linebackers.

Special teams may be the difference with field position being the big thing. And of course, we cannot afford to be on the wrong side of turnovers.

Curious, did Roland drop weight? I thought he was in the 3 bills neighborhood.

The curious case of Dexter Foreman still baffles me.
