How did you find a 3-year-old thread on an Arizona message board?
 



Regardless of how you found that thread, it hilariously parallels what's going on here--it's eerie, actually! The season before the one in question (2006), Stoops had guided his team to a 6-6 record and a bowl game. Forward to 2007. Stoops, who was in his 4th year as head coach at Arizona (his first head coaching gig, btw), had just lost a close game at home to a dismal New Mexico team. Additionally, he was pretty much directly responsible for the loss as he picked up a key 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which allowed New Mexico to punch in the decisive TD. I'd guess that the thread you linked to pretty much sums up the feelings of Arizona fans at the time. FIRE STOOPS!!!1!1!

BTW, Arizona went on to beat #2 Oregon later that year, and Stoops has followed it up with a couple 8 win seasons. He's 2-0 this year (his 7th at Arizona), and I doubt many are calling for his head.
 



Personally I'm a King of Diamonds kind of guy. I like to have beer with my fun...But I'll go anywhere to keep Plinnius happy...

He also changed offensive schemes in his fourth year.
 




Here we go again...find another team in another situation to excuse why we're in ours & how we should handle ours...

I remember when everyone was saying "Look at what Ron Zook did in his 3rd year! Give Brewster time!"

His 3rd year wasn't that impressive & he has shown no signs of being able to even Recruit like Zook could...

Now it's "Look at Arizona! We need one more year!"

Why? At least Stoops was a real coach with real experience & had at least made Arizona competitive in games. Brewster has never shown signs that he is a decent football coach, *NEVER*...& to this day people can't seem to understand why & are the same ones saying we'd steamroll over SDU & have an 8 win season yet haven't an IQ in Football high enough to understand why we lost to SDU...

What happened after we lost to NDSU back in 2007? Kansas coach is in his first year with his team & probably overlooked NDSU not knowing them as well as we all do...& Brewster is in his 4th year losing to brand new FCS Schools who finished .500 last year...

But if it makes people feel better to compare other situations in hopes that we end up the same then it is what it is...
