Watching sports shows this week and they say Ohio State and Auburn should be on upset alert.

I don't think a Top 25 team beating another Top 25 team is an upset.
Am I wrong?

To me an upset would be Eastern Michigan beating Michigan.

#12 beating #7 doesn't seem like much of an upset to me but #18 taking down #1 would be.

It looks like the Auburn game is less than a FG so I don't see how anyone could call that an upset. Wisky's almost a TD dog, so that falls into the upset camp.

There are upsets and there are epic upsets. Of course, just because the underdog wins isn't enough to qualify at as an upset, it has to come as a surprise. Appalachian State beating Michigan was an epic upset. An upset is a game that makes you think "Really? Team X beat team y?" The epic upset makes you go "You have got to be freaking kidding!"

I generally think anything within a 3 point spread is a relatively even matchup (controlling for home field). Anything between that and a touchdown is a minor upset. 7-10 points, straight-up-set. 11+ points, major upset. Yes, I just pulled those numbers out of my ass right now...but they feel about right to me.
