For those of your wondering why Minnesota was flag for 10 yards defensive holding. i tweet Mike Pereira this question and his respond was this.

It's 5 yards & an automatic first down in the NFL and 10 yards and also a first down in college if against an eligible receiver.

So it appear you can get a 10 yards defensive holding penalty. This was mention in our chat we had going when peoples were wondering why it was 10 yards.
 



Johnson was basically tackled by a NW lineman and as he was going to the ground, he grabbed onto another NW lineman and took him to the ground. It was a long way from the play. Boarder line call at best.
 

If I remember correctly it was a screen play correct? How the heck can you have defensive holding on a screen play? I'm so confused.
 


I get that, but why did they add the yardage to the end of the run?
