Saw this on Revsine's Inside the Numbers column on BTN.

"0,7: Minnesota has had 0 opponents gain 400 yards on them in a game this season joining Iowa and Michigan State as the three Big Ten teams that can make that claim. They allowed 7 teams to go over 400 in a game against them last season.

This week, they’ll face a Wisconsin team that has improved tremendously on offense after a very sluggish start."

Pretty great numbers for the defense. If Wisconsin reverts back to their early season form I think this game could be pretty tight. With it being at Camp Randall I give the nod to UW.

For the Gophers to have any shot in this one the defense has to play great. They can't afford to dig a big hole early because this offense is not built to play from behind. If the defense can play the way it has in the 2nd half of the two BIG games so far then the potential is there for a close game.

If we struggle to stop the run....yeah it could get ugly quick.

UW will run at will. The key to keeping it close will be keeping the Defense rested and off the field. Need a few bounces to go our way too.

Maybe but remember Wisconsin has run at will only 1 time in 6 games. One (and a half) good games don't completely negate 4 turkeys.

As much as I wish it weren't true, I think the numbers are a little misleading.

Our defense has been really solid against the pass. However, when teams are able to lineup and run the ball, they've been succesful. Western Michigan gave us a lot of trouble, NWestern and Iowa gave us trouble in the first half. I think WI's offense is the exact kind of offense that will give us fits. We have the athletic ability to be good, but when you're undersized you can't make mistakes as far as safeties and LBers taking bad angles.

I hope I'm wrong.
