With our leaking defense at times and giving up big plays, I don't think we can continue to punt on a short fields. We have a balanced offense and a senior QB who has made good decisions all year with the ball. Getting Lingen back should only help with this ability.
4th and 8 at PSU 35 and we punted (Net 15 yards, touchback)
4th and 5 at PUS 46 and we punted (Net 26 yards, touchback)
4th and 3 at the 50 and we punted (Good Result with net of 35 yards to 15)
It has to be a consistent mentality/philosophy so the players and coaches know it is what we do. This mentality can change play calls on 3rd down if you know you are coming back and going for it on 4th down.
