For the life of me, I can't figure out the RPI. How is a team like Northwestern ranked no. 10, while a team like Syracuse (12-1 against top competition) is ranked no. 23. Is there a site that can better explain how it works?

Your opponent's SOS is also a factor which is why the Gophers need minimum 10-11 conference victories because teams like High Point, SDSU, NDSU, Georgia Southern will start playing their conference opponents (i.e. weak teams) and their SOS will drop significantly.

Perhaps WAGopher and Oleboy should read about the tough non con opponents in the Barn on 08.

I think we both would like to see a tougher non-conference next year. But this year the schedule fit the needs of the team. Tomorrow we're going to find out if it was good enough to prepare them for Big Ten play.
