-- Gonzaga 94, Kentucky 59: Yowza! The Wildcat woes continue. It was never a game.
-- Notre Dame 87, @ TCU 85 -- On the heels of a Tuesday win over previously unbeaten Missouri, the Fighting Irish (7-3) added a nice resume road win in Fort Worth. The Irish pulled it off mostly without star guard Markus Burton (6 points, 5 assists), who left the game midway through the first half with a lower left leg injury. There has been no official word on Burton's status going forward.
Dribbles & Scribbles
-- It's a huge day for the Atlantic 10 and Mountain West conferences. Two of the four non-Power 5 conferences which traditionally receive multiple bids to the NCAA Tournament (also the American & WCC) combine to play seven Power 5 opponents, highlighted by Dayton (A-10) vs. Virginia, George Mason (A-10) @ Virginia Tech, and Boise State (MW) @ Butler.
-- The Big Sky, leading 6-3, needs 4 wins to clinch the Big Sky/Summit Challenge. It is favored in six of today's eight matchups. The Summit League favorites are North Dakota State (over Northern Arizona) and South Dakota State (over Idaho). Weber State-St. Thomas wraps up the Challenge at noon Sunday at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena.
-- Villanova (6-1) meets Penn (5-3) in the championship game of the Big 5 Classic. Quakers coach Fran McCaffery is seeking Philly bragging rights in his first season at Penn.
-- UCLA and USC can be the first Big Ten teams to 2-0 in conference play with wins tonight. The Bruins host Oregon (5 CT/Peacock), while USC welcomes Washington (5/BTN)
