Dribbles & Scribbles
-- The NCAA needs to be a lot quicker updating their daily NET rankings. It wasn't until 9:20 a.m. the rankings finally were updated. If nothing else, be consistent and post the update every day at the same time. That's my Ted Talk for the day.
-- Last season the SEC ruled college basketball, utterly dominating in non-conference play, leading to 14 NCAA Tournament bids, a pair of Final four squads, and a national champion. This season the script has completely flipped. Among Power 5 conferences, the SEC currently has the worst record vs. Power 5 (+ Gonzaga) opponents, 26-40 (39.4%).
-- Minnesota will face an angry Purdue team tonight (6/BTN) in West Lafayette. The preseason Big Ten and national title favorite Boilermakers (8-1, 1-0 Big Ten) are coming off an 81-58 thrashing at the hands of Iowa State in Mackey Arena. The Gophers (5-4, 1-0) have a chance to build upon their Big Ten opening 73-64 upset of Indiana.
-- Kentucky beat up on another cupcake (NCCU), 103-67. The Wildcats are now 6-0 vs. the soft pastry, and 0-4 vs. the Power 5 + Gonzaga. #BigBlueNation!
-- Anyone else notice how blah Archie Miller has been since taking over at Rhode Island? URI is a school with some basketball tradition, but the Rams just look like your standard middle-of-the-pack A-10 program. Indiana fans know the feeling.
-- Sneaky good game tonight is #79 New Mexico (6-2) @ #47 VCU (6-3). Both could be in the at-large conversation at the end of the season, and this is the last quality non-conference game on both schedules.
-- Curious to see how the worst team in the Summit League (Kansas City) fares tonight at home vs. Weber State. St. Thomas, arguably the best team in the Summit, cruised past Weber State by 23 points in Saint Paul just three days ago.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
Is Ohio State gonna' do this again? Be a pretty decent team with a fantastic player (Bruce Thornton), but end up with an iffy resume that lands on the wrong side of the bubble?
You gotta' win your home games.
