Just heard the guy doing the Titans game on NFL Network announce that David Cobb is from the University of Washington. C'mon man!

He corrected himself after the next play, but still.

WTF is Jacksonville wearing? Awesome to see Cobb finally getting some action.

Yea, those Jacksonville jerseys are terrible.

Glad to see DC finally getting off IR and getting some carries! Way to go bro!

Was wondering same thing. TNF uniforms have been interesting as of late. Last week's game was Santa's Super Bowl with the All Green / All Red colors and a younger version of Santa as the Jets QB. Guess the answer to the original question is 'Tis the Season?

They just need to move the Jags to London on a permanent basis, rename them the Monarchs, give them some killer uniforms and be done with it already. It would make for some traveling and scheduling hoops to have to jump through, but all that is doable. The Jags to London has been pretty much written on the wall for several years now, so why not just get it over with and do it?

Except it will never happen. Never will be able to play home playoff games and players will never move there on permanent basis. Good luck rationalizing logistics. Impossible scheduling and team will suck forever.

Yup, good business plan. NFL-Europe is only way it will work and still won't. Think clearly.

Well, that would be your opinion, but your opinion would also happen to belie the fact that Roger Goodell and a group of influential owners wish to to place a full-time, permanent franchise in London, because the London games have been a serious cash cow for the league, and as we know with the NFL, money trumps all other considerations. You say it will never happen, he says it might possibly occur within 5-10 years, so there would appear to be a difference of opinion there too. I don't know, but I'd probably tend to give his opinion on that particular matter just a little bit more weight than your own. Just a thought.

4 rushes minus 3 yards with a long of 2 yards for Cobb. Two other backs on the team averaged 5 plus yards on 15 and 5 carries. Team lost 19-13

I watched his 4 carries and he didn't have jack squat for running room. A few of them he got blown up pretty much right after getting the ball.

As long as his legs didn't get blown up, there is hope for his fiture.

First off might and will are two different thing second. Once a permanent team comes in the novelty of it all wears off. Right now there seeing different teams once so it's great for transplant fans, but the issues highway and others have mentioned will come up with a permanent team. Not to mention if they have trouble acquiring players, not enough people are going to want to watch a sub par product when they can watch the EPL instead.

I can't believe the Titans burned his redshirt for that...

The Titans have serious problems rushing the ball. They mentioned last night that the Titans leading rusher (Andrews) was 43rd in the league in rushing.

Cobb will definitely get his chances.

Not wishing to divert a David Cobb thread but feeling the need to offer a perspective.

- I feel Europe (at least a few thousand of the NFL Wembley fans are from Holland/Germany) has the strength in fan base to sustain an NFL franchise - certainly to consistently exceed the current Jacksonville average attendance. The game has been on television here for over 25 years and at the moment we get at least 5 live NFL and 7 live college games every week. We even get 3 live CFL games every week. Spectators are generally more knowledgeable that you might expect. It is not a novelty or a fad anymore.

- A lot of British American Football fans perceive it to be a far superior product to EPL. Many of us are sick of the lack of competition in the EPL (never more than 3 or 4 teams with a realistic chance of winning the title because the sport is based on financial monopoly), the embarrassing cheating/feigning injury and the awful example (abusing officials) that the EPL sets for our children. The EPL has not grasped the whole entertainment package (tailgating, music, tradition) in the way that you have.

- Although I feel there is a sustainable market for an NFL franchise in the UK, I agree that attracting players would be a problem. The NFL are currently trying to grow the playing side of the game over here so there is a home grown talent. I don't think this will work though - not quickly anyway. There are some good contact athletes here but they tend to play rugby and the skills/emphasis in Rugby are very different to those in American Football and they don't transfer well IMHO.

- I personally hope they continue to play games over here in the way they do now - I don't want them to start a new franchise. The reason for this is because I don't want to be a 'Monarchs fan'. I am a Golden Gopher first and foremost (I have supported the Giants for best part of 30 years in terms of the NFL - but this is second to my love of College Football) and I have a strong emotional connection. When I go to Wembley I want to wear maroon and gold to show my allegiance - most others fans that are there do the same for their teams.

I thought Smurfs pajamas went out of style quite a while back.
Rumor has it that cosplayers have won the push for adult underoos, so fashion experimentation won't be dying down any time soon.

Right now Cobb is the healthiest RB on the Titans being that he just came off of IR. Titans have a poor Oline so he wont get any running room been like that all year. So for now he has the best upside.
