Dave Lee was lamenting today, that he will not be able to win anymore Football Play-By-Play awards next year. Darn!!! Darn!!! Darn!!!

Oh man, that's pure gold. Here are some other winners of these prestigious play-by-play awards:

WJON, "Tech vs. Hopkins State Championship," by Jay Caldwell.
KVSC, "Football vs. Hillsdale College," by Dave Overlund, Justin Thomas.

*Not meant to be a slam on the above winners...just a little context for our friend, Mr. Lee.

Enough, we all know that a lot of people don't like Dave Lee. You never have to listen to him again. Move on.

no more

"hand off to McKnight." I wanted to smash my blameless radio

For what it's worth -

in order to be considered for this awards program, the stations have to submit an entry. Some stations don't bother, because they don't think they're good enough, and some stations don't bother because they don't give a rat's behind about chasing awards. Others like to enter because they like the prestige of saying "the award-winning radio station from........"

Having said that, I have no doubt that some of the entries from the smaller stations actually have better play-by-play announcers than Mr Lee.

Somewhere a tear is rolling down Ray Christenson's cheek.

And it would appear Bob Kurtz ,John Gordon don't give a rat's behind chasing awards. Paul Allen? When anyone wins a year end award like this, the question has to be asked who did you beat? Mike Grimm?

A little late for an April Fool's joke isn't it? He can win all the awards there are and it wouldn't make him a good football announcer. Most of us aren't obsessed with him but it's nice to see someone else get the chance. We can't do any worse, really, can we?
