Georgia safety Darius Green committed to the Gophers on Wednesday.

He announced his decision on Twitter, becoming the 10th player to choose the Gophers during the coronavirus pandemic, when recruiting travel is prohibited.

Green is a 6-foot, 190-pound Covington, Ga., native out of Newton High School. He is a three-star recruit, per 247Sports.com, and held offers from programs such as Indiana, Maryland and Georgia Tech.
This puts the Gophers 2021 class at 15 members. 247Sports.com ranks it as the ninth-best class in the nation and third in the Big Ten.

Not sure why there is not a composite ranking on him yet but 247 has him ranked as an 87 so assuming his composite comes in near that once the other sites catch up he will fall in the top portion of this class just outside the 4* guys most likely.

Don't recall there being a lot of talk about Darius prior to this but good size/speed combo and the state of Georgia has been good to us so looks like a strong addition to the class.

Agreed. Looks like offers from Virginia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Indiana

If this is our new diamond in the rough status, we've made a ton of progress!

It's the COVID-19 class!!!!

Uh ... wait no I don't like that name...
 

Faster than Avante Dickerson, who is FAST. Not quite as fast as Terrell Smith.
 







With this 2021 class coming in, I hope it keeps PJ here longer.
 


I am so looking forward to the Gopher's revamped Defense. They have a lot of length and speed!

Everything is in delay mode including evaluation sites. There are no in person weekend camps to test and evaluate etc

I just looked it up and the MN record for high school is 10.3, so yes a 10.6 sounds like very good speed.

he must not have liked to run the 200m because it dosent correlate to his 100 time
