University of Minnesota wide receiver Daniel Jackson was named to the 2024 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List today by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver.
Jackson led Minnesota in receptions (59), receiving yards (831) and receiving touchdowns (8) last season as he was named All-Big Ten Second Team.
The sure-handed receiver is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and has played in 42 career games for the Gophers. His 133 career receptions rank eighth in school history. Jackson has 1,822 career receiving yards, which ranks 12th all-time in program history and his 14 career touchdowns is tied for 11th. His five career 100-yard receiving games are tied for tenth in program history.
Former Gophers Tyler Johnson and Eric Decker are the only two receivers in school history to end their careers with more than 200 receptions, 2,000 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns. Johnson had 213 receptions for 3,305 yards and 33 touchdowns, while Decker had 227 receptions for 3,119 yards and 24 touchdowns. Jackson has a chance to join that selective group this season.
Jackson and the Gophers open the season against North Carolina at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Huntington Bank Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally by FOX and can be heard on the Gopher Radio Network.
