2. Ohio State......11-4 in

4. Wisconsin........9-5 in
5. Indiana...........8-7 should be in
.. Purdue............8-7 should be in
7. Iowa..............6-8 ??
8. Northwestern...6-9 ??
9. Minnesota.......5-10 out
.. Illinois.............5-10 out
11. Nebraska........4-11 out
.. Penn State.......4-11 out

Would change only a couple things. Indiana to "in", and Iowa to "out". The only way Iowa's making the NCAA tournament is by winning the BTT. Hawks did too much damage too themselves pre-B1G to garner an at-large.

As it stands, Purdue probably will get a bid because of the inflated Big 10 rep,
but they should NOT be in based on what they've done. The 2nd poster is right that Iowa is NOTgetting in. And NW has lots of work to do, though they will get every break
being a flagship "academic" institution. The NCAA always LOVES to be able to highlight an academic "name" in its championships.

Yes, the committee does have a history of giving Northwestern the benefit of the doubt and putting them in the tournament. I think that of the 0 tournament berths they have received, at least 5 of them were based on their academic reputation.

Doug Gottlieb tweeted earlier that if Iowa wins out they have a very legitimate shot at the tourney.

“@GottliebShow: sneaky bid stealer---look out for Iowa--could have sweeps of Wiscy/Minn with a win tomorrow”

“@GottliebShow: they can win out RT @11TimeChamps: @GottliebShow seriously? even with the poor OOC profile?”

“@GottliebShow: think about it,Iowa wins out--Wiscy @ Ill (dumpster fire) @ Neb vs NW----”

“@GottliebShow: Not saying it will happen, just giving you a team to keep an eye on--”

“@GottliebShow: yes RT @tcs122499: @GottliebShow Still think they would need to win one in the Big Ten tourney.”

Doug and I disagree on that one. Not sure a sweep of the Gophers will carry that much cache with the the selection committee considering the way we're finishing the season. Wisconsin, yes.

If I had to pick a sneaky bid-stealer it would be Drexel (24-5, 15-2 CAA, #73 RPI). Their resume's less than spectacular, but if the Dragons beat ODU to end the regular season & then get to the CAA finals and lose, I think it would be awfully difficult for the selection committee not to take the CAA regular-season champion with 19 wins in their last 20 games.

Figured I'd just post this here.

“@AmeliaRayno: Bracketologist Jerry Palm told me if #Gophers win Nebr. & take EITHER Ind. or @ Wisc, then do well in B10 tourney, there's a shot for NCAA.”

And if I lose 30 pounds & win the lottery I'll have a shot with Halle Berry.:)

We always said nine conference wins gets us in. What if we take all three to close out 8-10, then pickup a win in the first round and quarterfinals in Indy? That gives us 10 conference wins (including the tourney games), with the quarterfinal win being a quality one. Not looking to start an argument about the likelihood about that happening, but does that get us in in your opinion SS?
