Dan Patrick: from source: If conference can pass updated safety measures and procedures, Big Ten targeting Oct. 10 to start football season.

don't delete, it is a true story. There is consideration based on more updated mitigation procedures.

You have to wonder if we’ve legitimately passed the point where the internet is used more often to disseminate misinformation, than it is used to genuinely inform people. :cautious:

Denying a start date rumor certainly doesn't mean there isn't truth to the rumor. There's no way the conference would want an AD speaking out of turn at this point.

You can’t prove that the sun isn’t coming up tomorrow, so it has to stay on the table as a valid option.

Your assessment is that the Dan Patrick Show tweet is false and demand that it be deleted, but the Parker Gabriel tweet is correct and is gospel? You must be really connected to the hierarchy of the conference.
Unnamed “source” or actual Big Ten AD?

That’s a tough one.

Big Ten playing college football in fall 2020 remains 'a long shot' despite call with President Trump
Don't expect the Big Ten to suit up this fall -- and even a Thanksgiving start seems to be unlikely

I saw a story about a huge 'outrage' at Penn St. over a thing a year or two ago.

The source was less than 12 tweets, by just a couple accounts, several accounts had just a couple tweets all time.

Like I could make a better outrage than that all on my own...

What makes the Dan Patrick source's theory logical is that if they can't make it happen by mid-October, then starting Thanksgiving, January, or spring would put the Fall 2021 season at risk. Go big or stay home.

What does "put the fall 2021 season at risk" mean??

You can't possibly be hypothesizing that the fall 2021 season would get cancelled. That is just silly. At worst, they might delay the start a bit. But there is zero chance a fall 2021 season doesn't happen, and the champion will be eligible for the CFP.

First, I also should have added the DP/Source plan for Oct 10 would mean the Big 10 would be eligible for the CFP this year. Big factor.

Second, to clarify "at risk" I did not mean necessary cancelled. I meant abbreviated, delayed and with minimal high profile players opting out or not being available to injuries.
