"I have to say with the players, the fans, the whole team... this is the dullest team I've seen all year. There's just nothing there."

Quite the indictment.

I love it. It's so true. When lack of talent meets lacks of effort, you get the 2001-12 University of Minnesota men's basketball team. This team is so bad, it's almost bizarre.

I thought you weren't watching anymore?

Bad? We might not finish games well but you act like we have not been competitive all year.

Gophs are 2-11 last 13 games at the barn. that is horse*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#.

can't even say horsesh!t

edit. update

Can't disagree with dakich at all. Although, early sunday afternoon games are usually dull, it's the hangover crowd.

He must have been reading Gopherhole, because no objective person could ever be critical of the great Tubby Smith. He has been corrupted.

How dare Dakich suggest that losing Trevor hurts this team. He should have at least 1 guy on the bench ready to step in and replace the productions of a first team all big ten type player

Most of our crowd would kill themselves if they were drunk to their old age.

No excuses for the team and the leader of the program. Tubby should be fired today. The sooner the new coach is hired the sooner he can start recruiting Vaughn and Jones.

Have to laugh at this. Not sure how the fans can be blamed for how dull things are. But there's little doubt this "team" isn't interested in anything other than getting the season over at this point. You know it's bad when a media member basically calls you completely awful before a national television audience.

Yup. The fans get up for a huge game a few times, just to get gut punched. Can only handle so much abuse in 1 season.

Based solely on the game today, I would have to agree with him. Our guys played with zero enthusiasm. It was sickening to watch.

Over the course of the season, that hasn't been true though. Even earlier this week we played really hard and really well for 35 minutes. We just haven't played worth a $@^$ since then.

One season? The last two years have been a mess. That's only a slight nitpick however, especially since I am in full agreement in regards to the gut-punching you referred to.

After going up 6-0 this team never did anything that I can think of that would have merited the crowd getting into it. This was awful.

Hate Dakich if you want, but after listening to him multiple times this year, I think he would have this current team in the tourney. He knows what he is talking about and his announcing about our players is more passionate than Tubby's coaching. The dull comment was priceless, as were the comments when we had Ralph up top trying to feed Andre freakin Ingram.

The particular quote was fair, but he was a bit over the top today. Safe to say he doesn't want to be a candidate to replace Tubby.
