Greetings again everyone, it’s nice to be back doing the Daily Skinny after my brief hiatus. I see Bleed and Selection Sunday covered the news out of Kansas and Binghamton in my absence, so I’ll address the other scandalous news from the end of the week, the ouster of Jim Crews from Army. Without any released information, it seems something fairly certain that Crews’ dismissal was just not in regards to his win-loss record. It seems clichéd that Crews is a Bob Knight disciple, doesn’t it? :

Mike DeCourcy completed his Top 10 list of players by position last week with the small and power forwards and centers. If I had more time now, I might break down everything I disagreed with on these lists (Manny Harris as a small forward???), but I’ll just address this one for now; Luke Harangody should be listed at power forward not center. I suppose you could say that in college basketball there are very few centers anymore, so Harangody lands there by default, but he plays a very different position than the likes of Cole Aldrich and Jarvis Varnado.

I love watching teams that feature their guards and in Villanova and Washington, you have two of the best proprietors of guard-heavy teams in Jay Wright and Lorenzo Romar. It looks like Villanova may be returning to their seminal four guard, one post format this season while Washington will be attacking their opponents with water bugs:

I’ll wrap today with Gary Parrish’s article on Herb Sendek. When NC State pushed Sendek out, I was puzzled; this just affirms what many people were thinking at that move:
