Andy Katz’s blog brings us a couple interesting items, first telling us about Ohio State’s trip to Canada (can you pick out the Matta quote that had me laughing like an 8th grader?) and then he talks about Gopher target in the 2011 class, J.P. Tokoto and his whirlwind summer. I have to be honest, I don’t like our chances with Tokoto and without an Elite Camp, I don’t think that the Gophers will be able to recruit the elite talent on a national level:

Rick Pitino’s summer of dubious decisions continues with his new hire at Louisville (scroll about halfway down the entry). Certainly overlooked with the Karen Sypher trial dominating the news, nonetheless it’s a pretty interesting hire:

Chris Mack’s off to a solid start at Xavier:

And finally, poor N.C. State. Not only have they been an afterthought in their own state for several years now on the basketball court, but now their choice of jerseys is widely lambasted, to the point where the design is pulled. This is what you want your fans talking about in the off-season:

Tokoto is in the 2012 class. Supposed to be a great player and a really good kid. Hopefully he will be a Badger, but he can go anywhere he wants. Fortunately, he grew up a Badgers fan and has a great relationship with the coaching staff. Time will tell.

I went to (Cincy St Xavier) HS with Chris Mack's Dad, Tom Mack. He was 6th man on state runner-up team in 1965 (star was Bob Arnzen, later A-A at Notre Dame) and star of team as HS senior. Great family, I hope Chris does really well at XU.

Pitino hired Simeon Mars in 1996 to land Jamaal Magloire away from Purdue so no surprise about hiring Teague's coach.
