Hey, I have to like these guys at Vegas Watch, even if I have no idea whatsoever about the statistics they use. I’d love to see the season unfold like this prediction:

Memphis in the Big East? Makes sense for Memphis, but are more teams what this bloated conference needs? http://web.sny.tv/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090916&content_id=6998564&oid=30069.2&vkey=52
If Jamie Dixon returns Pitt to the NCAA tournament this season, give him Coach of the Year. Four starters exhausted their eligibility (including stalwarts Dejuan Blair, Levance Fields, and Sam Young), top reserve Gilbert Brown was ruled ineligible for first semester, and now Jermaine Dixon, the only remaining starter from last season, breaks his foot and will miss eight weeks:

There’s plenty of reasons to criticize ESPN, but I do love this 24 hours of hoops concept. If I had the chance to watch games this day, I’d make sure I was tuning in at 8 am, noon, 7:30, 8 pm (Gonzaga-Michigan St) and 10 p.m. Sounds like heaven!

Lastly, National Hoops Report gives us their top 12 basketball books; some great choices on there, but they missed out on a couple of my favorites, The Last Shot and Eagle Blue:
