Gary Parrish gives us his All-American teams with the most eye-catching prediction that of John Wall being the National Player of the Year. It seems to me that Parrish is sleeping on Evan Turner, who I think will emerge as the premiere player in the Big Ten this season:

The build-up for Purdue is rolling, with this USA Today article tying in the “so close to Indianapolis” storyline which we’ll be sure to read/hear from now until March:

Chances are we’re not going to see too many Morgan State previews before the season commences, but Rush the Court breaks down the MEAC Conference and predicts the Bears will run away with the conference. They do feature Reggie Holmes, who may be the best opposing player to step into Williams Arena before conference play begins:

The positive buzz surrounding Syracuse’s Wesley Johnson continues:

Finally, Beyond the Arc basically steals the premium info from Jay Bilas’ ESPN column (which I’m basically stealing from also, once-removed) about the upcoming rule changes for the season. The charging rule change promises to be an annoyance throughout the season, while the substitute foul shooter rule will probably rear its misguided head at some crucial point of the season:

The Skinny will be on hiatus until probably next Tuesday at the earliest, have a great weekend~CHG

I keep thinking about Wall leading Kentucky to the Final Four & then having recruiting irregularities surface that force Kentucky to vacate those games ... Ala Rose and Calipari at Memphis.

And, hypothetically, if something like that were to occur, would Calipari, yet again, walk away unpunished while the hammer falls on Cleveland St.?

Yeah, I don't think there are many folks in the Midwest who would take Gordon Hayward over Evan Turner - sounds like Parrish isn't seeing the forest for the trees with his picks there.
