Today we're delving into information provided from our friends in Michigan; friends due to the fact that they've given us some pretty positive numbers. It's astounding how much is returning for the Gophers, with plans to incorporate four touted recruits into the mix. I also look at these numbers and wonder how Iowa avoids the cellar.

The first link is from a Michigan blogger who compiled the returning minutes for each team in a variety of statistical categories:

This second link is from a MSU blogger who charts a team's success from the previous season, their returning players, and new recruits and compiles it into a scatter plot predicting a team's success. I'd be quite satisfied with the season playing out this way:

Enjoy the weekend, I'll be back Monday!

Basically, we are looking at 3 factors to predict next season:

1. Last year's performance (Gophers made NCAA Tournament)
2. How much returns (Gophers have the highest percentage of returning points in Big Ten)
3. Newcomers (Gopher's recruiting class is rated among best in league by most experts)

I like our chances!!!

I also look at these numbers and wonder how Iowa avoids the cellar.

I suspect that as we get closer and closer to the season, you will find yourself in good and rapidly expanding company.
