Here's a late addition that I just saw this morning. No matter how some may defend him, John Calipari now has the unique distinction of being the only coach to head two different programs that have had to vacate Final Four wins/seasons:

A bit of a slow day for news in the college basketball world yesterday, so I’m going to lean on Gary Parrish for today’s links. We’ll start with an article about Pitt’s Jamie Dixon and why he’s rebuffed all suitors, then turn to his story on Enes Katner, the stud from Turkey who is coming to America to play at Findlay Prep. Two questions: does Tubby/Vince Taylor have any Turkey connections and could Katner room with Cory Joseph, providing an inseparable bond that brings both to Minnesota?

One more item from Parrish. . .in his blog, he tells us about Jarvis Varnado forgoing his scholarship so there were enough schollies for hyped recruits John Riek and Renardo Sidney; you could read that news several places, but none gave you the punchline that Parrish provided:

Perhaps you’ve already seen this video, but it deserves repeated viewing-Kansas State’s Denis Clemente’s amazing shot in H-O-R-S-E.

ESPN provides an early Atlantic 10 preview and the top draw on the Gophers’ home non-conference schedule is projected to be in rebuilding mode:

Perhaps a bit of the future for Gopher fans?
"We've sold out every game [at the 12,500-seat Peterson Events Center], and we have a waiting list of 5,000 [for season tickets even though] ... we've raised ticket prices like 600 percent in the past five years," Dixon said."http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/12077464
