D1 Minnesota Play In Dallas This Weekend

D1 Minnesota 17's and 16's won the Comet Shootout two weeks ago and will play in the adidas Gauntlet this weekend. The 17's will face the New York Rens FridaY at 8:30. Memphis Magic at 8, OBC at 11:45 and Brookwood at 4:45 Saturday and Kansas Pray and Play at 1 on Sunday. They feature Billy Wampler and Tyler Johnson, who were both recently featured in stories by Gopher Hole.

Billy Wampler continues his strong play as he helped lead D1 Minnesota to three wins Saturday as he scored 66 points. He made 20 of 32 shots from the field, six of eleven three-pointers and 20 of 22 free throws. Wampler has offers from South Dakota, South Dakota State, North Dakota State and Bucknell. He is also hearing from Minnesota, Iowa, Creighton, Wisconsin among others. It will be interesting to see who is the first high major program to pull the trigger on Wampler. Whoever does could have the inside edge.
