Wasn't the strength of our defense our large athletic line? All I see is a bunch of 300 lb. wussies who like to stand up and bump bellys. Did any one of them come with 15 feet of Tolzien? Who are these clowns Brewster recruited?

I was watching the d-line and they were getting pushed all over the place. I would love to know how many tackles were made by the D-line. Hell the RB hardly ever seemed to get tackled at the line of scrimmage. Our D-line is a joke.

This is Tim Cross D line the Associate head coach, why are they lacking so much?

Rivals named Tim Cross one of the top 25 recruiters in the country. For being such a great recruiter you think he could at least have 1 recruit for his own unit that could rush the passer or one guy that could not be moved off the line of scrimmage. This is possibly as a group the worst performing D-line in 15 years that I have had full season tickets for the Gophers.

They will have the lowest sack total and TFL's in the history of the Gopher program after this season. This is not even close to the lack of talent during the Wacker years, they lacked talent but at least there was effort from those guys. The effort for this group is very poor at times and communication even worse. They do not lack talent, speed ,or size, this is not a group lacking in those areas, but they are sorely lacking fundamentals. Attention to detail and playing with proper leverage is non-existent, positioning all of this is just done very poorly right now. This group as a whole could use a new voice and then some heavy dedication to conditioning and fundamentals. This is area of weakness that you can indeed point to where the defense as a whole is breaking down.

They need someone that will actually teach them some technique, instead of bumping chest and pumping them up. Cross may be a good recruiter and nice guy but his unit's have improved the least of any group in the program since he has been a coach here at the U. That and he was strength and conditioning guy at UT with Brew, if he is a guru at strength and conditioning why are his guy's getting pushed around, sucking wind, knocked back and then running undisciplined out of plays all of the time. This is an area for the program that has clearly broken down. I don't get it Cross reputation as a coach is not that bad, i just don't understand where they are coming from with there approach. It is almost like well F- it were out of here anyways why even try. Even if I was out, you still owe it to the kids to coach them the best you can.

But we have great young talent. Brew and many on this board seem to think so....they must just be unathletic because of their inexperience.
