Anyone see the Curtis Twins at St. Louis Park and wonder why they are going mid major to UND? 6-9 230lb guys who play some point guard, can shoot from distance, score inside. Athletic with College ready bodies. I've only seen them on youtube playing Wayzata and Hopkins.

Haven't seen them play, but UND is a good proving ground to showcase skills and get stronger. Play a year or two at the mid-major level and see whether there is a bigger market that wants you.

They are super athletic, and strong. They both play incredibly hard. For their age, very physically mature and explosive. They're more of a 4 working to be 3s (ballhandling, shooting). I saw them play Orono this year, and while Groves just dominated that game, they were on the same level physically and athletically (more athletic IMO). In the current world of college hoops, I'd expect them to do well for a year or 2 at UND, then go higher.

They are definitely more athletic.

Have we seen many high major recruits going to mid-majors for immediate playing time/development? Seems like a good strategy in the current era

I was just surprised they aren't more highly rated. Some might have to do with playing for an underseen program. Team was lost against teams like Wayzata and Hopkins. I also don't know if they wanted to play at the same college, if that affected any offers? If they are in fact 6-9 230lbs, they are 4's already! I'd say they are the 3rd and 4th best post players in 2025, after Ahneman and Thompson.

Park didn't have good guards, so they were the guards most of the game, but when they did post up or drive they were tough. I watched Thompson in person and he is 6-8/6-9 and maybe 210. He would have a hard time with their strength.

I happened to have provided the color commentary for St. Louis Park public access for their game against Hopkins—boring all the viewers with stories of the Lloyd Holm-Butsie Maetzold rivalry. They’re athletic and could play the full length of the court at any of the positions if necessary. Hopkins was relentless and overwhelmed the SLP guards which reduced the brothers’ influence over the game. One of the brothers (can’t remember which one) struck me as having college three point shooting range with a quick release. Extrapolating a couple years—they appear no less skilled than the Sanford twins of the late Clem years. The difference now being they’ll get paid more to play serious minutes at a mid-major than play spot roles at Minnesota. If they continue to grow and improve it would be a terrific story if they became rotational players for Minnesota a couple years from now.

Thanks M@SF! In the clips I saw, they reminded me of a more skilled (probably not quite as freaky athletic) versions of Jarvis Omersa.

I'd love for both of them to have scholarships here but from what I've seen, you're right, one of them is more skilled than the other one.

My brother works in SLP district. That's pretty much the exact thing he said about the twins, also mentioning Omersa. Said they're both raw, but one was clearly better. Full disclosure, I don't know their names, so don't know which one he's saying is better. He was surprised one got a scholly to UND.

Kinda reminds me of Duoth and Both Gach, one went to Utah and the other NAIA I believe

Micah Curtis averaged 30 ppg and 10 rebounds, he had a high of 59 against Chaska I think. Those are some gaudy stats for an unranked 6-9 player.

They are both a bit raw. One more than the other. Certainly athletic and big enough. Need to improve to play power conference D1. Hard to tell how good they are when the rest of SLP was pretty mediocre this year.

Anyone remember the Stanford twins? Played pickup ball with them a few times at the rec center.
