Bowl games as single games off site bonus games / potentially interesting locations makes sense.

A series of playoffs at what are effectively neutral site like games ... doesn't make sense.

Even professional sports do not depend that much on traveling fans to fill seats.

The Peach Bowl has already sold all their tickets, so what difference does the resale market have on the decision whether or not to play the game there or on campus?

Tickets to the Ohio State game got down to around $40 an hour or two before the game, although I'm sure the weather played a role.

Kinda like some hotel rooms, the room is cheap, but don't forget the resort fees, parking and taxes.

Picturesque setting though in Pasadena compared to the dome in Atlanta. That should count for something.

Get in pricing probably not super useful as Joe Schmo who bought early and then saw airfare was 1000 probably is just looking to dump the tickets. Median probably better. On top of that, large market places are going to have well set up robo buying and resales, places like Happy Valley for the first round game less so

TV ratings and attendance the past couple of seasons say otherwise. Ratings were through the roof this year.

Attendance may go down for the playoff games but only for basic economic/logistical reasons.

Lets say the Gophers had a great year...

Fans would need to go to Indianapolis for the conference championship game, then either bye, home game (not free), or an away game, then two more bowl games with airfare.
