I am not calling this an accomplishment but am wondering if we would be in line to make the new Crown tourney in Vegas? Not sure who gets to pick first between that tourney and the NIT? Sounds like an interesting format of 16 teams and automatic bids from big 12 and big 10. Any insight into this?

If we win 1 game I think there's consideration for nit. But crown is where Ben will get to go and feel accomplished

My understanding is the Basketball Crown automatically will get the 2 best (NET) Big Ten teams not making the NCAA. So right now that would be some combination of Ohio State (36), Northwestern (56), Nebraska (57), and Penn State (63). It’s pretty likely there will be 3 or 4 Big Ten teams in the Crown.

If we lose Wednesday we will be 15-17. We should not be offered nor accept any postseason bid.

We finished 17th out of 18 teams in the NET, we aren't sniffing The Crown. Maybe if enough teams back out of the NIT we can play in that second rate tournament again.

Waste of time. Get on the recruiting trail no matter who is coaching. Seniors can connect with agents to get jobs in overseas leagues.

I'm not sure if all of the Crown invites are based on NET. I recall reading that the top 2 from each conference are. I don't think decision makers want to be completely handcuffed by a single index, no room for discretion. Having said that, I don't have a strong desire to watch this team again this season.

As of now the "automatic qualifiers" would be:

B1G:
Ohio State
NW

Big 12:
Cincinnati
Utah

Big East:
Villanova
Butler
^assuming Xavier makes it.

After that you need 10 more teams. I'd say the following are most likely being selected:

Nebraska
Georgetown
Boise State (unless they make NCAA's)
Colorado State
UNLV

After that I have no clue. I've read up and when it says at larges, I'm just under the assumption that they'll only select teams from leagues they have a broadcast agreement with, which is the B1G, BE, Big 12 and Mtn. West. It would be cool if Fox deviated from that, but I doubt it. If they don't they're going to have to select teams at or below .500.
