per the Crookston Times:

Jerry Kill is reviving Golden Gopher Football, which hasn't won a bowl game since 2004. The excitement for the program is growing and now Kill is helping build the enthusiasm by visiting small towns.

Kill will be in Argyle, Minn. Monday, June 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sorenson Memorial Field. The day is dubbed "Jerrysota Day" as part of the "Small Towns Bringing Big Crowds" campaign, supporting the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota and the American Cancer Society.

The goals for Jerrysota Day are to promote Gopher Football, to promote awareness regarding epilepsy and cancer and to receive free will donations to support research directed at these conditions.

There will be a bean and brats lunch at 11:30 a.m. and "Jerrysota" t-shirts will be handed out. A presentation by coach Kill will be at noon. Any and all free-will donations received at the lunch stand and for the t-shirts will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota and area Relay for Life teams. We will also have games and activities for young children, a football passing tournament for high school teams and informational booths and activities.

Go Gophers!!

It's good to see the U making its presence felt in the edges of the state. It would be great to see people charter buses from up north to take in a Gophers game.

Argyle is not at the end of the earth, but you can see it from there.

Poor Argyle. Never gets any respect.

If you think Argyle doesn't get any respect, try Stephen.

Screw Argyle.

KVRR: Gophers Head Coach Heads to Argyle for Jerrysota Day

Welcome to Jerrysota Day the first of its kind in the state of Minnesota. It's an event devoted to fundraising and tackling the tough issues surrounding cancer and epilepsy.

"You know a lot about cancer," Gophers head football Jerry Kill said. "You know a lot about other brain diseases and situations. There's not a lot out there about how to solve epilepsy."

Kill is in his element in Argyle. A guy with small–town roots. Standing on a football field. Teaching.

"Because strength comes in numbers and we need all these numbers," Kill said.

Go Gophers!!

The Jamestown Sun: Kill feels right at home in Argyle

“I’m a small-town guy and this reminds me of Cheney; I’m kind of at home,” said Kill as he signed T-shirt after T-shirt and posed for picture after picture at the high school football field. “This is a great time; and it’s great to see people enjoying themselves.”

Entering his fourth season as the Gophers coach, Kill said he wants to visit all parts of Minnesota to promote the program.

Argyle turned out in a big way as the bleachers at Jay Sorenson Memorial Field were packed as the coach delivered a message that focused on how hard work and small-town values lead to good things.

“There are a tremendous amount of Gopher fans around the state,” said Kill. “Some of the most loyal ones are from right here because they have to drive 5 to 6 hours for a game. Hopefully, we picked up a few more today.”

Considering I went to school in Hallock, yeah they do.

I'm from up north as well. How about these towns?

Humboldt
Grygla
Goodridge
Gully
Gatzke
Greenbush
Gonvick
Newfolden
Middle River
Badger

I'm not sure if any of the towns above reach even 500 people. When I was young, most of them had their own football teams. Now, most of them are grouped together in some kind of 9-man consortium.

I tell people the truth that I moved to the Twin Cities because of the warmer climate! It's cold up there!

My favorite Minnesota co-op was always BILL. ... Bird Island-Lake Lillian. Brings back MSHSL memories of the "3-Beer Barry" days.

Yeah I live in Northwest MN and played in 8A and I don't think any of those towns are alone anymore, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River is one and I believe they have bounced between 9 man, A, and even AA, Newfolden is with Karlstad to form the Northern Freeze and they have bounced between 9 man and A, Gonvick is combined with Clearbrook in 9 man, Goodridge-Grygla-Gatzke are all combined and in 9 man.

North Dakota coach Bubba Schweigert showed up in an ugly green sweater and photobombed Coach Kill's appearance. Front page of the Fargo Forum sports section (such as it is).

I think this one has changed into Bold, Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian-? I'm not sure on the other town. They won the state baseball championship in class A last season.

BOLD (Bird Island, Olivia, Lake Lillian District) - even though it should actually be BOLLD, but whatever.

I believe B.O.L.D. stands for: Bird Island, Olivia, Lake Lillian, Danube. Went to college with a girl who was from Bird Island.

Danube is part of the Renville County West school district.

Ya, but the wind never blows because of all the hills and trees! Also, how could you leave Halma, Donaldson, and the old home town, Kennedy, off the list? By the way, upnorthkid, we hated you snotty big town kids.

LOL. It's funny how times have changed now. Some of best and closest friends are from Kennedy. The co-op was probably quite the help! ha

then throw in the Hallock-Kennedy-Lancaster and surrounding area co-op to make Kittson County Central and the section becomes basically all muddled and confusing if you aren't from the area.

I left Holt and Stranquist off as well as Lake Bronson! That's probably another 150 people right there! And Roseau was the big school. They had grades with almost 80 kids!

If you're trying to list all of the team's in the old Summer Rec baseball league the list is almost complete. I believe the only two remaining are Oslo and Warren. Oslo's team was known league wide for having the highest percentage of players wearing blue jeans....at least two every time we played them!

BOLD was originally what supadupa said.

dpodoll is correct: BOLD is Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian (D stands for District) and Danube is part of RCW district.

Your last statement is far far too accurate
