Are the gophers recruting this RB, did you see what he did in the state tourney. Reminds me of barber a big back with speed.

Betty Crocker at RB is not going to happen.

John Crockett may be a possibility, but per Strib article a lot of schools have stayed away due to academic and ADHD issues.

Also, you may have mistaken Crockett with the FB at times. My in-laws kept confusing them, #23 and #24, as the FB ripped off about a 50 yard run in the first half.

Coach on WCCO

I was listening to his coach on WCCO and he said the same thing about difficulty in school. He thought he would go to a D1 two year school to get things straightened out. If he got things going in the right direction he thought he could play at a very high level.

So much for private school "educations".

Yea, because everyone that goes to a private school is miraculously turned into a great student, no matter what their situation.

What is your point, by the way? Why is educations in quotes?

Kid goes Totino for a great education and can't get into a D1 or D2 school. If he was non-athletic, would he get his need-based scholarship? Would Seantrel at Cretin?

Yes. Hence the term "need-based scholarship." Schmuck.

they had an article on him in the paper the other day. basically said he wasn't a star player that was "recruited" to go to Totino. He just showed up there, coaches didn't know anything about him, but he developed into a great player.

the blind private school hate is annoying. agree with gophben in the schmuck comment - do a little homework before jumping on the post button to make a point you came up with 10 years ago and feel the need to keep regurgitating. the kid's story was just in the strib the other day, after all. it's not like you have to be a close friend of the family to understand the situation.

as for the big back comment, i think crockett was listed at 180 lbs. he does have a bigger frame for a back as he's a titch over six feet, and could probably easily hold another 20 - 25 lbs.

not sure about mnspaniel's two year d1 comment. do you mean a d1 juco, such as the cali league that includes college of the sequoias, et al?
