Cretin DH/Stillwater/Gopher recruits on ESPN2 game Friday Night!!!

Some people's definition of big time football is when their team gets broadcast on ESPN2. Cretin and Stillwater must both be big time football now.

CDH was on ESPN (I think it was ESPN but perhaps it was a regional channel when they played in Louisiana a few years back). "Once in a lifetime" indeed.

If they are going to pick a game from MN, I get it they want to show their own #1 rated recruit but to make MN football look better, I'd rather it be one of those games with thousands of fans in the stands with schools like Eden Prairie, Wayzata, Minnetonka, etc.

Cretin's not a top-ten team right now, but they will have thousands of fans in the stands, and the out-state viewer is going to be primarily concerned with watching Jashon. EP and Wayzata seem to be a bit down on the high-end talent. If we're going to be concerned with showcasing the state's best teams they should try to match up the Minnesota state champ with the Wisconsin or Iowa champ.

The problem with broadcasting from UST is that it is a one sided stadium. It seats 5,000, all on the west side of the stadium.

They put in some premium seats they call a "veranda" on the east side. Don't know if they'll allow anyone to sit there Friday.

I don't know if they want you to, but there are tables up there I sit at and study if its nice out. It'll be a fun game, Jashon might have five sacks too.

Its in a fairly central location too, so I hope to see you there.

Cretin lost to Roseville? Stillwater is down from last year.

I'm planning on getting out there tonight to see him. Should be a good atmosphere. Is this going to be a Tyus Jones like experience where I need to get there an hour early or will showing up at 6:45 be sufficient enough to get two seats?

Shouldn't be a problem based upon being able to get seats when Seantrel was #1 and Cretin had a better team.

A comment on EP and Wayzata talent not being "high end". Those programs are so deep they don't rely on one guy. I think they have gems every year, but probably don't get noticed. Ben Lauer is a great example, Kill loves him and he is moving up the depth chart. He wasn't a high end recruit, yet contributed to Wayzata's great results.

I don't think they have a Ben Lauer on either of those teams this year. Maybe somebody will come on during this season and get some better offers, Hovey and Robert Olson from EP, and Greeley/Brandon Lingen from Wayzata. They certainly are deep teams.

They saying this was the first national tv game ever from Minnesota, but i seem to have seen a Eden Prairie High School football game, back a few years ago that was on CBS College Sports Network, or as they call it now CBS Sports network.

Well, the broadcast is much better than AggieVision...

They just said there was someone running on the field. Where is @Vodka_Samm?

I expected cornell to have an impact on this game... Ive seen nothing... credit Stillwater

Cornell did have 8 or so tackles, one or two for a loss, and a forced fumble. Not a bad game for him, for his team on the other hand..

All the talk about his first step. The quickest first step high school player I have seen in Minnesota was Willie Van De Steeg. He made Lyndon Murtha look sick. Willie was an absolute last minute offer.

I watched the entire game.. all im saying is I expected a lot more from the number 1 recruit in the nation...

I agree...than again ESPN is the only service that has him as the #1 recruit. Certainly in camp settings he showcased his dynamic play making ability and physical skill set but it has to translate to real game scenarios.

Stillwater tackles made him look like he belonged at Perkins

Standing behind East Ridge having far more talent. Compare Roseville scores. Cretin is very average again. I wonder if someone whispered to Scanlon to at least wear a purple jacket and wear your pink shirt under it for national tv? Once again, Cretin is the most penalized team in the conference.

Cornell was pretty quiet in that game, but that was mostly because Stillwater ran away from him like a bunch of little girls. Seriously, almost every play was a run to the direct opposite side that he was on.

Also, anybody else there see the streaker? That was the highlight of my day. I just hope he had a get away car stationed. Nearly perfect execution. The stillwater bench got a pretty good view of some testes

Lastly, if you're looking to go and watch Minnesota HS talent, I would recommend seeing Jeff Jones over this guy. There's only so much a defensive end can do to impact a game.
